Azimuthally Sensitive HBT Analysis

چکیده

In this paper we investigate a possibility to perform shape-sensitive HBT analysis in transversal plane. We study presently used Side-Out decomposition of the correlation function and we do not find it to be very sensitive for the detection of a shape of source distribution in transversal plane. Therefore we suggest to use X-Y decomposition of the correlation function for the HBT analysis of non-central heavy ion collisions. We test the method suggested on artificial and non-central Pb-Pb 158GeV/n events produced by CASCUS event generator. Further possible enhancement of the method is sketched.

I will present a review of the field of Hanbury Brown-Twiss interferometry in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The “HBT puzzle” is explored in detail, emphasizing recent theoretical attempts to understand the persisting puzzle. I also present recent experimental results on azimuthally sensitive HBT, HBT of direct photons, and some surprises in the comparison of HBT results from p+p and Au+Au ...

Consistent Hydrodynamic Description of One-and Two-particle Observables in Relativistic Heavy-ion Collisions at Rhic * * *

We show that a consistent hydrodynamic description of soft-hadronic oneand two-particle observables (the HBT radii) studied in the relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC may be obtained if one uses the Gaussian energy density profile as the initial condition. The transverse-momentum spectra, the elliptic flow coefficient v2, and the pionic azimuthally sensitive HBT radii are successfully rep...

Collective dynamics of the fireball

I analyse the identified single-particle pt spectra and two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations from RHIC. They indicate a massive transverse expansion and rather short lifetime of the system. The quantitative analysis in framework of the blast-wave model yields, however, unphysical results and suggests that the model may not be applicable in description of two-particle correlations. I then discuss...

An Azimuthally Anisotropic Blast-wave Model

Abstract. I investigate the correlation between spatial and flow anisotropy in determining the elliptic flow and azimuthal dependence of the HBT correlation radii in non-central nuclear collisions. It is shown that the correlation radii are in most cases dominantly sensitive to the anisotropy in space. In case of v2, the correlation depends strongly on particle species. A procedure for disentan...

Two-particle interferometry for non-central heavy-ion collisions

In non-central heavy ion collisions, identical two particle Hanbury-Brown/Twiss (HBT) correlations C(K,q) depend on the azimuthal direction of the pair momentum K. We investigate the consequences for a harmonic analysis of the corresponding HBT radius parameters R ij . Our discussion includes both, a model-independent analysis of these parameters in the Gaussian approximation, and the study of ...
